Friday 12th December is the last cafe before the Team break for Christmas.
The Friendly Friday Cafe is exactly what it says, a safe space with a warm welcome, friendly faces and a fresh, home made and nutritious meal.
They have a never ending supply of tea, coffee and biscuits and they crown the morning with lunch and cake (it’s free with optional donations welcome)
It’s a place without judgement, where you can go and enjoy good food and good company.
A place to feel safe and warm.
A place to make new friends.
A place where you can enjoy contact in what can be for some, a very lonely world.
A place where you feel like you’re a part of something.
A place where you can feel at home.
Perhaps most importantly, it’s a lifeline in the village and its surrounding area.
The cafe runs, and survives, on the generosity of the team who give their time each week and those who donate the vital funds and supplies to keep its cupboards stocked.
The team is made up of a group of volunteers who give their time, resources and energy, for free, to create and maintain the provision of the cafe.
They work hard each week turning up long before it opens the doors to get the ovens on, the food prepped, the cooking going and the church hall warm, organised and ready to welcome everyone.
Time and attention is given to everyone that walks through the door. They know everybody’s name. If you’re new to the cafe, they’ll know your name by the end of the first cup of tea and they won’t forget it, even if that was the only time you visited.
If you’d like to support the Friendly Friday Cafe by way of donation, please email the office who will be happy to assist you whether it’s a one off donation, a rolling monthly donation or a bag of supplies.
